Magnetometer Survey
"extensive experience of conducting magnetometer surveys"
EMU Limited’s Geosurvey Department has extensive experience of conducting magnetometer surveys in order to detect the presence of ferrous objects on or beneath the seabed. This can be undertaken as independently or as part of a full geophysical survey.
Magnetometer and gradiometer surveys have been undertaken in a variety of water depths and for a wide range of applications including archaeological investigation and UXO (Un-Exploded Ordnance) detection. EMU has recently developed a unique technique for towing four magnetometers side by side, greatly improving survey cost-effectiveness compared to standard techniques without compromising on data quality.
Using the latest processing techniques we are able to extract and interpret the maximum amount of information from your data set, giving you the very best results tailored to your exacting requirements.
More recently developed gradiometer (vertical or horizontal) data acquisition and processing allow for greatly improved accuracy and resolution of magnetic targets.
We currently use the Geometrics G-882 magnetometer (currently the most sensitive instrument on the market) as our primary instrument of choice for both magnetometer and gradiometer surveys. The processing and analysis is then completed using Geosoft's Oasis montage, an extremely powerful processing and mapping software package ideally suited to all styles of magnetometer and gradiometer surveys.
