ECOTOXICOLOGY
EMU offers a comprehensive range of sediment, water column, pore water and effluent assessment (Direct Toxicity Assessment) toxicity tests using a wide variety of aquatic organisms. With over 10 years experience in environmental toxicity testing, our services include:
- Algal tests
- Oysters embryo tests, plus other bivalve larvae tests
- Amphipod tests
- Copepod tests
- Polychaete tests
All work is conducted according to national and international guidelines. Laboratory based toxicity tests are carried out in environmentally controlled chambers in the Ecotoxicology Laboratory at Hayling Island. All work is conducted according to national and international guidelines. The sensitivity and consistency of toxicity tests are regularly checked using standard reference substances recognized by UK regulatory bodies. See Quality Assurance
In combination with our ecology and consultancy teams we are able to offer a comprehensive survey, analysis and advice package, both nationally and internationally. Recent projects include ecotoxicological assessment of sediments from the Middle East.
