Geotechnical Survey Services - Gravity and Piston Coring
EMU geotechnical owns and operates the latest class leading marine soil investigation equipment including three and six metre variable frequency vibrocores, Datem Neptune 5000 heavyweight CPT, gravity and piston corers and a number of various surface sediment sampling grabs.
Generally speaking we use our three or six metre variable frequency vibrocore on land, or water depths up to 500m. For water over 100m deep, and depending on seabed type we would consider employing a gravity or piston corer that can operate down to full ocean depths. The core length and penetration weight on this device can be configured to obtain the best results for the required project and would be tailored for the exact project requirements.
