  • The United Kingdom Accreditation Service is the sole national accreditation body recognised by government to assess, against internationally agreed standards, organisations that provide certification, testing, inspection and calibration services.

  • ukas2Accreditation by UKAS demonstrates the competence, impartiality and performance capability of these evaluators.

  • Unlike BSi registration, which applies to the whole company, UKAS accreditation applies only to certain activities within the company. The scope of our UKAS accreditation includes the following activities:

    • Particle size distribution in marine and freshwater sediments
    • Isolation and enumeration of presumptive total coliforms, faecal coliforms and faecal streptococci in sediment, marine waters, sewage effluent and freshwater
    • Isolation and enumeration of presumptive E.coli in sewage sludge
    • Isolation and enumeration of Bacillus globigii in marine and fresh water
    • Manual and automated sampling for microbiological testing in coastal areas, rivers and waste waters
    • Mobile laboratory for all microbiological tests
