Bespoke Metocean Software

"bespoke Metocean data management and software development"

EMU Limited MetOcean Team provides a unique capability in bespoke oceanographic and meteorological data management and software development. EMU provides bespoke solutions to clients, in real time, offline and in any format required.

EMU has developed a particular specialism in providing real time oceanographic and meteorological data direct to client/consultant desktop using various telemetry systems.

Recent bespoke software written by EMU Oceanography include:

  • EMU Remote Metocean Monitoring Software

Real time Metocean data transfer - from the sensor through the receiving computer for graphical display on a website

Oceanographic and meteorological data that has been collected from a Wave Buoy, WaveRex, meteorological station or other data collection instrument can be transferred by telemetry to computer receiver station.

The incoming Metocean data is then processed and EMU's bespoke software enables instant detailed information to be viewed by the end user. This EMU Metocean data processing and telemetry software has been designed to run for long periods of time with no user input.

  • OceanV3

EMU MetOcean has developed an extensive in house suite of software that is specifically designed to manage, process and report time series data. The bespoke software includes tidal harmonic analysis modules, tidal prediction, bespoke wave analysis modules, full data QC and reporting routines that accept data from any instrumentation.  The software outputs a standard product that is both easily understood and can be incorporated into all standard systems for further work.

  • EMU Remote Monitoring Software (Buoy watch) - 24 hour monitoring of real time data collection.

"Buoy Watch" is a 24 hour monitoring and warning system created by EMU’s MetOcean team which is used to monitor malfunction of any of the deployed equipment or the computer network.  The system was developed as part of EMU’s wave buoy network maintenance programme for the Channel Coastal Observatory. The warning system enables a rapid response to be made by MetOcean team.

    Equipment Location Tracking

Movements of wave buoys can be tracked in conjunction with a customised Google Earth visual and an alert will be given if it is heading towards its outer acceptable location limit.  The wave buoy's intended direction and location can then be projected, aiding recovery.

This Buoy Watch software is bespoke and is unique to EMU.
