Bathing and Recreational Waters
EMU Limited offers UKAS accredited microbiological water quality analysis for Bathing and Recreational Waters.
EMU has provided water quality management for over 15 years to a broad spectrum of clients including Local Authorities, Schools, and Port & Harbour Authorities. Water samples can be taken by the client or EMU in conjunction with a water quality survey and results are reported relative to the current Bathing Water Directives.
The suite of microbiological water quality analysis and testing consists of, but is not limited to:
- Escherichia coli
- Total coliforms
- Faecal streptococci
- Total Viable Counts
- Salmonella (presence/absence)
Other waters that are not ‘designated’ bathing waters can be analysed using the same suite, particularly for health and safety precautions to help protect users. For example, EMU is currently working with Oxford & Hampshire Fire and Rescue Services to ensure that water rescue training is conducted in water that meets bathing water guidelines, and therefore, limits the risk of infection to users.
