Acoustic Ground Discrimination System
Acoustic Ground Discrimination System (AGDS) data can be used to classify the acoustic properties of the seabed. This information can then be used to create sediment boundaries and biotope plots of the seabed. The AGDS data is often processed in parallel with other geophysical survey tools such as sidescan sonar and sub bottom profile data to ensure that an accurate description of the seabed is created.
EMU Limited is also able to ground truth the results of this analysis using either geotechnical or ecological sampling methods. The systems that EMU has employed in the past are RoxAnnTM and OMI QTC VIEW.
